Logging workouts

Starting and logging a session

A session is a single live or completed workout, started from a template — either directly or through a program slot. While it’s active you can log sets, edit a set’s reps/weight/RPE/notes, delete a set before finishing, and add notes to the session as a whole or to an individual exercise.

Set types

Every set has a type. Working is the default; you can also tag a fresh set as warm-up, back-off, or failure directly.

A drop set works differently: it’s always created from an existing working (or failure) set’s “+ Drop” action, nests under that set rather than standing on its own, and can’t be picked when logging a fresh set or changed to/from afterward. Any other set type can be freely re-tagged after the fact.

Only working and failure sets count toward your target-set counter (e.g. “3/4 sets”) and feed personal-record detection and next-session weight suggestions — warm-up, back-off, and drop sets still show in your history, but don’t count toward either of those.

Cardio exercises

An exercise is categorized as strength or cardio, which decides what the logging form shows — it’s not something you choose per session. A cardio set logs equipment, duration, incline, speed, and perceived exertion instead of weight/reps/RPE, and always logs as a plain effort (no warm-up/drop/ back-off/failure tagging) — if a cardio effort was a warm-up, that’s reflected by placing it in the session’s Warm-up section instead.

If an exercise’s strength/cardio categorization looks wrong, it can be corrected — but that correction applies to that exercise everywhere it’s used, for every user, not just your own journal.

Supersets and circuits

Grouping exercises into a superset or circuit is supported, but set-type tagging, drop/back-off sets, and cardio logging aren’t available inside one yet — every set inside a superset or circuit logs as a plain working strength set today.

Finishing or abandoning a session

Finish a session to save it permanently to your history. You can also abandon an active session, which marks it canceled and removes it from your normal recent-session history rather than counting it as completed.

There’s currently no way to delete a completed session, or a full editing workflow for one after it’s finished, from within the app.
